St Wilfrid’s offers a warm welcome to all.

10.30am services at St Wilfrid’s in October are as follows:

Sunday 6th October: Lay-led Morning Prayer

Sunday 13th October : Harvest Holy Communion 

Sunday 20th October: Joint Celtic Communion at St Wilfrid’s

Sunday 27th October: Holy Communion 

 

We offer a wide range of services, from traditional to more informal and contemporary forms of worship. Our main Sunday morning services take place at 10.30am. Other service times can vary. 

The pattern is as follows:

1st Sunday

10.30am Lay-led Morning Prayer (Not led by a vicar.)

 

2nd Sunday

8am Holy Communion

10.30am Family Communion

3rd Sunday

10.30am Joint Parish Celtic Communion, alternating between St Wilfrid’s and St Francis

5pm Alive@5 in church.

4th Sunday

8am Holy Communion

10.30am Holy Communion with Prayer and anointing for healing.

Last Sunday of Month (4th or 5th )

5pm Inspire – Currently on hold. (Contemporary, informal, relaxed cafe-style worship in the Parish Hall.)  

5th Sunday

Children Are Always Welcome

Play and pray kids

At the back of church is a children’s area, which children are welcome to use during the service. Please don’t worry if your children are noisy!

 

Church Facilities

After most services, tea, coffee and biscuits are available in the parish hall, donations welcome. Toilets are also available there. Do join us after the service for friendly conversation.

Weddings, Baptisms & Funerals

Anyone who lives in the parish, or has a qualifying connection with the parish, can be married in church. Click here for more general information about getting married in church.

Recently, the General Synod of the Church of England has debated the issue of offering a blessing for same-sex marriages and partnerships. Follow this link to read the Archbishop’s letter on the matter.
